MANILA, Philippines - Nagpaliwanag ang American Idol runner-up na may clean image, si David Archuleta, matapos kumalat sa Internet na nagpunta siya sa sikat na gay bar sa New York, ang Club 57, noong Sabado, April 17, sa imbitasyon ni Charice. Dahil dito, nagkaroon ng pagdududa sa sexuality ng batang singer.
Sa mga sunud-sunod na tweet sa kanyang Twitter account nag-react si David A. na minsan nang pumunta dito sa Pilipinas: “Hey guys just wanted to clear something up real quick lol. Last night in New York I got invited to go and see my friend Charice perform. Mental note to self: always ask where before you go! Wasn’t my kind of place lol, and I had no clue! I guess you live and learn.
“The upside was that Charice was awesome, and she has an incredible voice. Hope that clears things up! Been seeing some of the tweets… sheesh! Can get crazy quick. NO worries all, I wouldn’t get into things like that intentionally haha. Hope you guys have a good Sunday!”
Idiniin pa ng singer na wala siyang problema sa mga gay people kung kaya siya nagpapaliwanag dahil may mga kaibigan din siyang gay. “I’m sorry if that’s how it came across. I’m just not into the partying scene lol,” pahabol pa ni David A.
Si Charice ang nag-imbita sa singer kaya humingi rin ito ng paulit-ulit na paumanhin matapos malagay sa alanganin ang sitwasyon ng kaibigan. Hindi akalain ni Charice na mapag-uusapan ang pagkikita nila sa gay bar.
Nag-post din ang singer sa Twitter: “I am really thankful to have a great friend like David…thank you @DavidArchie for the support. One more thing, i just got invited there because ‘Pyramid’ is no.7 on Billboard dance remix and i really had to go there to promote it.”

Nagkaroon na ng duet noong isang taon sina Charice at David A. sa Christmas album ng huli. Nagkakilala ang dalawa sa New York din noong 2008.
