MANILA, Philippines – Isang libro tungkol sa kasaysayan ng Ilocos Norte in illustrated form ang ilulunsad sa Miyerkules, May 27, 7:00 p.m. sa Main Lobby ng Ayala Museum on Makati Avenue, Makati City.
Sinulat ni Ilocos Sur Governor Deogracias Victor “DV” B. Savellano, ang bawat pahina ng 250-page Ilocos Sur: An Illustrated History, believed to be the first of its kind, is in full color, replete with eye-catching illustrations by Philippine Star artist Rene Aranda and Armand “Bim” Bacaltos, senior lecturer at the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts.
With principal research and documentation undertaken by Dr. Maria Luisa Camagay of the University of the Philippines History Department and under the editorial supervision of Ester G. Dipasupil, desk editor of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, the attractive coffee-table book designed by Benjo Laygo and Nanie Gonzales was intended to be an informative, easy read not only for Ilocos Sur’s young citizens, its primary target, but for those interested in tracing the roots of the province’s rich cultural and historical heritage.
Inaasahang dadaluhan ang launching ng Ilocos Surians, representatives from the province’s youth sector, national and local government officials and members of the diplomatic corps.
