In its March issue, YES! Magazine features the first batch of 25 most powerful showbiz luminaries in order of importance. Kabilang sa listahan si Joey de Leon, ngunit sa halip na flattered ang TV host, he maintains his position that, “You don’t equate power with respect.”
Bagama’t for all intents and purposes ay wala namang ibig ipakahulugan ang naturang babasahin, Tito Joey sees beyond one’s possession of power. Hindi raw kasi ito ang pangkalahatang batayan sa pagkatao ng isang tao who should be measured in terms of his deeds.
Let’s face it, para sa marami, the term “power” or “powerful” can be viewed from a different, much less negative perspective. And Tito Joey certainly has a point.

But Josh takes pride in being the only local balladeer to have done a pop version of it.
Kabilang din sa kanyang 10-track album ay isa pang Spanish classic na Historia de un Amor na inawit din nina Luis Miguel at Julio Iglesias, Selena’s Dreaming of You, Gloria Estefan’s Don’t Wanna Lose You Now, Rihanna’s I Hate That I Love You. Nakapaloob din dito ang tatlong original Tagalog songs with Latin flair. Ang Eres Mio, Kahit Minsan Lang at Magpakailanman. Never to be outdone is Josh’s own composition, ang Estar Contigo (To Be With You) with English and Spanish lyrics.
I would say this with genuine sincerity. Walang ibang sign natin ang may K na kumanta ng Spanish or Filipino-Hispanic songs but Josh alone. Idagdag pa ang kanyang mestizo looks that all the more enhance his Latino packaging. Habang pinakikinggan ko siyang kumanta, I felt I was in some Spanish-speaking country, en la villa con muy hombre hermoso.
