Sa appointed venue pa lang ng presscon ng Dyesebel through a group text message by GMA 7’s CorpComm, it would leave any recipient no doubt at all na isang engrandeng event ’yon. The choice of Sofitel’s poolside (i-segue ko ba after my item on Piolo?) was perfect to re-create an aquatic atmosphere.
On one side of the pool hung a white curtain, behind it was the “sea-based” cast members ng naturang bagong fantaserye. On the opposite side ay ang mga maka-lupang tauhan sa kuwento led by Dingdong Dantes who later joined Marian Rivera.
The choice of the event allowed the creative staff to go to town. Sa bridge muna kumanta si Julie Ann San Jose (ng Sugarpop) ng theme song nitong Aking Mundo with top shots of synchronized swimmers in their rhythmic movements.
Si Jhops Carpio-Cruz was the busiest CorpComm staff that night, at sa kanyang aligagang palakad-lakad from one direction to another, I cut her across. “Jhops, this is your most fabulous presscon,” sey ko sa dyowa ng on-cam news reporter at guwapong si Ian Cruz.
Aminado si Jhops that mounting such production wasn’t a piece of cake. Bagama’t namangha ang lahat with a dropped jaw, “Kailangan sa susunod naming event, mahigitan ito,” she confessed.
Para sa akin, there’s more to this Mars Ravelo classic than meets the eye. Surely, maging ang Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), including several eco-tourism groups, will endorse Dyesebel.
