Nagdadamdam ang ilang reporter kay Ms. Malou-Choa-Fagar, also PR head of the Dolphy-Vic Sotto first ever movie together. Para sa mga nagtatampong reporter, newsworthy naman ang pagsasamang ’yon ng dalawang komedyante, kaya wala naman daw sigurong masama if they swoop down on the set, and they did just that.
As early as 12 noon daw nang baybayin nila ang Pasig City, ang location ng shooting. Halfway through, naabutan sila ng malakas na ulan. Since there were no early signs of bad weather, wala silang dalang mga payong, they had to wait until the heavy rains stopped.
Bandang alas-singko na raw nila natunton ang lugar, nagkataong nakasalang si Vic while Dolphy arrived moments later. To themselves, the two reporters who admitted to not having been invited to the set, saw a beacon of hope pagkakita nila kay Dolphy.
Maya-maya, nagpaalam na rin daw sila kay Dolphy who, in fairness, was both felicitous and solicitous, the usual Tito Dolphy na marunong mag-estima ng visiting press sa shooting. ‘‘Uuwi na ba kayo?’’ tanong ng Comedy King sa kanila, ‘‘Hindi n’yo na ba hihintayin si Vic?’’ Hindi na raw dahil mukhang matatagalan pa ang mga eksenang kukunan.
But just as they were poised to leave, eto’t paparating daw si Malou, astonishment written all over her face, sabay tanong na, ‘‘Bakit kayo nandito? Hintayin n’yo na lang magpatawag ako ng press visit. Hay, naku, hindi ko kayo iimbitahan sa presscon.’’
One of the two reporters was far less stunned sa tinurang ’yon ng TAPE, Inc. lady exec. Lagi naman kasi silang nagkikita sa Eat Bulaga, but not once has Malou ever intimated na imbitado sila to events related to the Dolphy-Vic movie.
Katwiran daw ni Malou, they were out to spoil her well-thought out promo campaign for the movie.
Naunawaan naman daw ’yon ng dalawang reporter who even bargained with Malou that if such was the case, hindi muna nila isusulat sa kanilang respective tabloids. Minutes later, the two left the set with a half-wide grin on their faces.
By the way, the Dolphy-Vic movie is produced by APT, the same outfit that made Text… which bombed at the tills!
