Ricardo Cepeda, gusto ng action pero sa bold nasasabak

Isang sexy movie ang naging introductory film ni Ricardo Cepeda. The Secrets of Pura, an Alma Moreno starrer at pinagsamahan nila nina Christopher Llanes at Lorenzo Mara.

"My agreement with Regal Films was for me to do action films. Si Mother Lily (Monteverde) mismo ang nagsabi the first time we met, sa action ako nababagay. Even the people around her agreed with her.

"Ang problema kasi with any film outfit is that they have insiders in the company who are managing talents. Gagawa sila ng paraan para hindi ka maging in competition with their talents. Modesty speaking, I could have done a better job than them, if given the chance.

"Matagal ko nang dream to do an all-out-action movie. The type of films that John Wayne used to do. The Green Beret, The Alamo, mga ganoon. Not really about the war, it’s more like the spirit of man under an incredible odds, parang inspiring talaga to do better."

Ang latest movie ni Ricardo ay pinangungunahan ni Cesar Montano bilang si Chavit. Kasama sa movie sina Eddie Garcia as the elder Crisologo and Tirso Cruz III bilang si Bingbong Crisologo. Also in the cast are Joel Torre and Dina Bonnevie. Balitang may mga action scenes kang ginawa sa pelikulang ito, how was it?

"Nag-comment nga si Direk Carlo J. Caparas, tiyak daw na mapapansin ako sa mga action scenes na ginawa ko sa pelikulang ito. But I have done action films in the past, baka lang talaga hindi pa nila napapansin. Like ginawa ko yung Frame Up noon with Raymart Santiago in the lead role, that was a Pepe Marcos film at sinundan pa yun ng ilan.
