Isang pagtutuwid mula kay Tintin Bersola
November 13, 2003 | 12:00am
"Id like to emphasize that exclusive for TV yung interview ko with Dao sa 11th floor ng Manila Pen. Other than me, others got to interview him for print media namely James Ong (Metro Magazine), Jerome Gomez (Star Studio Magazine), Vicky (Chalk Magazine) and Wilson Flores (The Philippine Star). Armed with my handycam, I was busy interviewing people, Direk Bobet (Vidanes), Direk Jilmer (Dy) and Tippy (Adanza) who assigned us the strictly-approved questions for Dao.
"When we were told that Dao arrived via helicopter from Le Pavillion, we took our respective seats. While waiting for Dao and wearing our lapel, we (5 interviewers) engaged in some light chat and I was repeatedly saying "ni hao ma". Hearing this, Wilson Flores of The Philippine Star volunteered to teach me to say "gwa ai di" or "I love you" in Chinese. Kami-kami lang yun, wala pa si Dao. You know how the press normally share a light moment and joke around to kill time, di ba?
"The moment Dao entered the room, it was a different story. The mood was formal and no-nonsense. Quiet kami and not rowdy but warm and friendly to Dao so he would feel at home with us.
"Then Dao took his seat. Fixes his lapel. To break the ice, I told Shirley (the interpreter) to tell Dao that he is handsome. Dao looked at me, smiled and said "thank you" shyly. But the moment the cameras started to roll, Ive completley forgotten the "gwa ai di" thing. Because the first I did was welcome Dao.
"Mali yung info that I told was much excitement in the room, and natural lang kasi biruin mo naman, si Dao ang andon with us, up close and personal, I was able to contain myself. I didnt shriek in excitement kasi di ko personality yun. Di ako tumili sa harap ni Dao. But I was very happy realizing how lucky I am that here he is, in the flesh, the guy na crush ng buong Pilipinas. Happy ako but not to the point na titili ako.
"Ang ganda ng sagot niya on what was his ideal girl. He said someone like his mom cause he loves his mom very much. He was so sincere and I find it so touching kaya I told him, "You are so sweet. You are such an ideal man!"
Kaya ang sabi ni Tin, "Then you should go to the park today!" na sinagot ni Jerry ng isang napakatamis na ngiti.
Sa naging kabuuan ng interbyu ni Tintin, he only has good words to say for Jerry Yan.
