PATTS student, tinanghal na ‘Miss ROTC Luzon 2024’
TAGAYTAY CITY, Philippines — Isang estudyante mula sa Philippine Air Transport and Training Services (PATTS) College of Aeronautics sa Parañaque City ang kinoronahang “Miss ROTC Luzon 2024”.
Dinaig ng PATTS student na si Radha Marie Cabug, kumakatawan sa Philippine Air Force, ang 21 iba pang kandidato sa one-of-a-kind pageant na ginanap sa Tagaytay Combat Sports Center noong Sabado ng gabi.
Tinanghal na first runner-up si Althessa Patetico mula sa De La Salle University (DLSU) sa Manila, kumakatawan sa Philippine Army, habang si Jeraline Acosta mula sa Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) na kumakatawan din sa Philippine Army ang second runner-up.
Si Cabug ay third year BS Aircraft Maintenance Technology student sa PATTS, si Patetico ay first year BS Accountancy and Applied Economics student sa DLSU, habang si Acosta ay isang first year BS Criminology student sa ISPSC.
“The Miss ROTC search highlights not just the beauty and talent of the candidates, but also their military training skills and discipline,” sabi ni Sen Francis “Tol” Tolentino, founder ng Philippine Reserved Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Games.
“Through the Miss ROTC search and the ROTC Games, we are able to showcase another aspect of the ROTC program, which is empowerment and recognition of our youth,” dagdag ng senator, principal author ng Senate Bill No. 2034, ang Mandatory ROTC bill.
Nauna sa kanyang talumpati, inihayag ng Senate Majority Leader na ang SBN 2034 ay isasama sa plenary agenda ng Upper Chamber simula ngayong araw.
Ang pageant ay ang opening salvo para sa Luzon regional qualifying leg ng Philippine ROTC Games, na gaganapin mula Hulyo 28 hanggang Agosto 2 sa Cavite State University sa Indang, Cavite, at ilang iba pang venue sa lalawigan.
Kabilang sa mga dumalo sa event sina Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa; Cavite State University President Dr. Hernando Robles; Department of National Defense (DND) Assistant Sec. Henry Robinson Jr.; at mga kinatawan ng AFP at DND, Commission on Higher Education, Philippine Sports Commission, at Tagaytay City LGU.
