Cebu Classic opens campaign vs Caloocan in MPBL tonight

CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu Classic will kick off their higly anticipated return in the 7th Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) season against the Caloocan Batang Kankaloo today (Thursday, March 13) at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.

Tip-off is set at 6 p.m.

Former PBA cagers Rashawn McCarthy, Jan Jamon, Ken Holmqvist, Paolo Hubalde, Gryann Mendoza, and Lean Martel will banner Cebu’s comeback from a five-year hiatus in the regional cage league founded by boxing legend Manny Pacquiao in 2017.

They will see action alongside homegrown players Shaquille Imperial, Jiesel Tarrosa, Brylle Meca, Limuel Tampus, Jeco Bancale, and Dolan Adlawan.

Also fighting under Cebu’s banner are Dennis Santos, Kascius Small-Martin, John Jabonete, Ladis Lepalam, Darrell Manliguez, Mark Meneses, Mike de los Santos, Jameson Hiro, Vergian Santos, and John Paul Martinez.

Head coach Voltaire Ora will call the shots for the team assisted by Mike Reyes, Jun Da Jose, Marlon Zambrano, Demy Salenga, and Jean Putong.

After Caloocan, Cebu will take on the Quezon Huskers on March 17 in a hectic schedule that includes games vs the Bataan Riders on March 20, vs the San Juan Knights on March 24, and vs the Manila Batang Quiapo on March 29.
