CABC 2nd Mortabond Cup kicks off today
CEBU, Philippines — Six teams will begin their battle for hardcourt supremacy as the Cebu Architects Basketball Club (CABC) 2nd Mortabond Cup gets underway today at the Benedicto College-Cebu City Campus gym.
Before the action begins, a simple opening ceremony will take place at 1 p.m.
Defending champion Duraplas Lite trains its sights on back-to-back titles.
Out to given them a run for their money are Mortaseal, Strakgrout, Mortaflow, Ezbond, and Premium.
They will play under a single round robin format, with the Top 2 advancing to the semifinals outright with a twice-to-beat advantage.
The remaining four teams will face off each other in the knockout quarterfinals (No.3 vs No.6 and No.4 vs No.5). The survivors will proceed to the semis against the early qualifiers.
The winners will then clash for the coveted crown in a winner-take-all affair. — (FREEMAN)
