Gin Kings inalat sa 3-point line sa game 1
MANILA, Philippines — Bukod sa matinding depensang ibiigay ng nagdedepensang TNT Tropang Giga ay malamya rin ang naging tirada ng Barangay Ginebra sa three-point line.
At ang resulta nito ay ang 104-88 panalo ng Tropang Giga sa Gin Kings sa Game One ng Season 49 PBA Governors’ Cup Finals noong Linggo sa Ynares Center sa Antipolo City.
Tumapos ang Ginebra na may masamang 2-of-21 shooting sa 3-point range.
“They took a lot of what we wanted to do away from us. We shot the ball poorly with 2-for-21 from the three-point line,” ani coach Tim Cone.
Kumpara ito sa magandang 12-of-30 clip ng TNT.
“So it’s just one of those games. You hate to see how it happened in the first game of a championship series,” dagdag ng 25-time champion mentor.
Maganda ang naging panimula ng Tropang Giga nang kunin ang 19-5 abante tampok ang tatlong triples patungo sa pagtatala ng 20-point lead, 89-69.
Ito ang naging susi nila sa pagsikwat sa 1-0 lead sa kanilang best-of-seven championship series ng Gin Kings.
“When we got off to a good start defensively, I think that set the tone for the game and there’s no secret to our game - it’s really our defense. I think defense really won it for us,” sabi ni TNT coach Chot Reyes.

Humakot si import Justin Brownlee ng 23 markers, 6 boards at 3 assists para sa Gin Kings.
