MANILA, Philippines — Muling papagitna ang mga collegiate women’s volleyball teams sa paghataw ng Shakey’s Super League Collegiate Pre-season Championship bukas sa Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
Kabuuang 18 koponan sa pangunguna ng UAAP champion National University ang sasalang sa torneo.
Target ng Lady Bulldogs ang ikatlong sunod na conference crown at pagwalis sa SSL season matapos dominahin ang National Invitationals noong Hulyo sa SSL tournament na suportado ng Shakey’s Pizza Parlor, GCash, Chery Tiggo, F2 Logistics, Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken, Potato Corner, R and B Milk Tea at Summit Water.
“The goal really was to get all 18 schools, the 10 NCAA teams and eight UAAP schools. We’re happy that we’re able to do that this year,” sabi kahapon ni Dr. Ian Laurel ng SSL organizer Athletic Events and Sports Management, Inc. (ACES),
Magbabalik sa SSL ang University of the Philippines at De La Salle University na hindi naglaro noong nakaraang taon.
Walong UAAP teams at 10 NCAA squads ang sasalang sa torneo.
Hinati ang 18 teams sa apat na grupo kung saan makakasama ng NU sa Pool A ang Arellano University, Emilio Aguinaldo College, Ateneo de Manila University at San Beda University.
Nasa Pool B ang University of Santo Tomas, Lyceum of the Philippines University, Mapua University, University of the East at University of Perpetual Help System Dalta.
Ang Pool C ay binubuo ng La Salle, Letran College, Jose Rizal University at UP at nasa Pool D ang NCAA champion College of Saint Benilde, San Sebastian College-Recoletos at Adamson University.
