60 golds kaya ng Team Philippine — Tolentino
MANILA, Philippines — Kumpiyansa si Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Rep. Abraham ‘Bambol’ Tolentino na malalampasan ng mga Pinoy athletes ang nahakot na gold medals sa 2021 Southeast Asian Games sa Vietnam.
Umabot na sa 46 gintong medalya ang nasikwat ng delegasyon noong Linggo sa papatapos na 2023 SEA Games sa Cambodia.
“We will surpass our medal tally in Vietnam,” wika ni Tolentino na pangulo rin ng cycling association. “It’s achievable, God-willing it might (even) reach 60 (golds).”
Sa Vietnam SEA Games ay nag-uwi ang mga Pinoy bets ng kabuuang 52 golds, 70 silvers at 105 bronzes.
Inaasahan ni Tolentino na makakahugot ang bansa ng ginto mula sa kickboxing, taekwondo, arnis, weightlifting, judo, wrestling, dragonboat, beach volleyball, jet ski at sepak takraw.
“If you get one each (gold) on these sports, definitely we will surpass the 52 golds in Vietnam. We already surpassed the silver. We only have 70 (silvers) in Vietnam, we have now 72,” sabi ng POC chief. “There could be surprises out there.
Isa ang soft tennis team na tinukoy ni Tolentino na nanggulat sa Cambodia SEA Games sa hinataw na tatlong ginto, isang pilak at isang tansong medalya kumpara sa nakuhang 3-0-1 noong 2019 Manila SEA Games.
