MANILA, Philippines — Binanderahan ng mga Pinay athletes ang arangkada ng Team Philippines habang kinumpleto ng obstacle course racing team ang four-gold sweep sa 32nd Southeast Asian Games sa Cambodia kahapon.

Humakot ng ginto sa kanilang mga events sina Kim Mangrobang sa wo­men’s duathlon, Jamie Lim sa women’s -61kg kumite at Bien Zoleta Manalac at Princess Catindig sa women’s soft tennis doubles’ event.

Ito ang ikatlong sunod na SEA Games duathlon gold ng 31-anyos na si Mangrobang at target ang pang-anim na ginto sa triathlon ngayong umaga.

Muli namang nagreyna ang anak ni PBA legend Samboy Lim sa kanyang weight division matapos noong 2019 Manila SEAG.

Tinalo nina Manalac at Catindig sa finals sina Chatmanee Jankiaw at Napawee Jankiaw, 5-2, ng Thailand para sa pagdedepensa ng korona.

Winalis ng obstacle course racing team ang huling dalawang golds mula sa panalo nina Angie Radan, Elias Tabac, Mervin Guarte at Jay-ar de Castro sa men’s team relay at tagumpay nina Sandi Menchi Abahan, Mecca Cortizano, Milky Mae Tejares at Marites Nocyao sa women’s team relay.

Inangkin ni Marc Lim ang ikatlong ginto ng bansa sa jiu-jitsu sa kanyang panalo sa men’s ne-waza nogi -69kg.

“Our athletes are all in high spirits and high energy, they are all willing to get those golds,” ani Philippine Sports Commission chairman Dickie Bachmann sa Team Phl na may 13 golds, 19 silvers at 22 bronzes para sa No. 5 spot sa medal tally.

Nagdagdag ng silver ang Gilas Pilipinas men’s at women’s 3x3 teams matapos yumukod sa Cambodia, 15-20, at sa Vietnam, 16-21, sa finals, ayon sa pagkakasunod.

Sa swimming, nagposte sina Jerard Jacinto at Teia Salvino ng mga bagong national mark sa men’s 100m backstroke at 50m backstroke at sa women’s 50m backstroke sa kanilang 55.99 segundo, 25.56 segundo at 28.99 segundo, ayon sa pagkakasunod.

Lumangoy ng pilak at tanso si Jacinto at may tanso si Salvino.

Ito rin ang ambag nina jiu-jitsu artist Meggie Ochoa (women’s ne-waza nogi -52kg), karatekas Arianne Brito (women’s +68kg kumite), Ivan Agustin (men’s -84kg kumite) at Lemon Misu (women’s -68kg kumite) at Salvino, Miranda Renner, Xiandi Chua at Jasmine Alkhaldi (women’s 4x100m freestyle).

Nakatakdang sumalang ngayon sina two-time world gymnastics champion Caloy Yulo, World No. 3 pole vaulter Ernest John Obiena at Tokyo Olympics boxing silver medalist Carlo Paalam.
