MANILA, Philippines — Isang gold at isang bronze medal ang inangkin ng three-man team ng Kombat Klub Mixed Martial Arts Philippines sa katatapos na Manila International Open Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2023 ng Asian Sport Jiu-Jitsu Federation (ASJJF) sa Alabang Festival, Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

Hinablot ni Joseph “Pe” Gillo ang ginto habang nakuntento sa tanso ang Pakistan national na si Asgher Ali Changezi sa Masters 1 category.

“We had a great day at the ASJJF Manila open international tournament. We had three competitions and got one gold and one bronze medal. No walk on medals, everyone had to fight!” sabi ng KKMMA sa kanilang FB account post.

Si Ali ay dati nang nakakuha ng championship belt sa National Grappling Championship sa Pakistan at nagsilbing head coach sa iba’t ibang MMA gyms sa nasabing bansa.

Ang Kombat Klub MMA Philippines na pinamama­halaan ni American Professor Adam Michael ang nagsilbi ring coach ng nasabing koponan.

Minalas naman sa me­dalya si Jhonmar Sopranes bagama’t nagpamalas ng kanyang kakayahan sa laban.
