MANILA, Philippines — Sinundan ng 5-anyos na si Aleia Aielle Aguilar ang mga yapak ng kanyang amang si Alvin Aguilar matapos maging pinakabatang jiu-jitsu world champion ng Pilipinas.
Tinalo ni Aguilar si Gabriela Vercosa ng Brazil via verbal submission para kunin ang gold medal sa kids’ 1 Under 16 kilogram class sa 2022 Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Championships sa Jiu-jitsu Arena, Abu Dhabi sa United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Ang batang jiu-jitsu champion ay anak ni Aguilar, ang president at founder ng Filipino MMA promotions na Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC).
“I’m beyond happy that my baby girl is now the Philippines youngest World Champion. We will continue to work hard to bring honor to our country,” wika ng mixed martial arts founding father sa anak niya.
Nauna nang tinalo ng batang Aguilar ng Deftac-Ribeiro Jiu-jitsu Philippines si Maria El Halabi, 6-0, ng UAE sa semifinals papasok sa finals.
“She was born into Jiu-jitsu. I was bringing her with me to training after giving birth to her when she was as young as three weeks old,” wika ng kanyang inang si Maybelline Masuda.
