Sports patrons makakatuwang ng POC para sa incentive trust fund

MANILA, Philippines — Isang special incentive trust fund ang itatatag ng Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) kasama sina businessman at top sports patrons Manny V. Pangi­linan, Ramon S. Ang at Charlie Gonzales.

Ito ay para sa mga Pinoy athletes na nagwagi ng medalya sa mga nila­hukang international competitions.

Sina Pangilinan ng MVPSF, Smart at PLDT, Ang ng San Miguel Corpo­ration at Gonzales ng Ulticon Builders, Inc. ang tutulong sa POC sa paglalatag ng incentive trust fund para sa mga medal winners.

“The POC expresses its gratitude to Mr. RSA (Ang) and Mr. MVP (Pangilinan) for their relentless and enthusiastic support to the trust fund, which is envisioned to inspire our athletes to level up further in their pursuit of victories overseas,” ani POC president Abraham ‘Bambol’ Tolentino.

Ang extra bonus ay hiwalay sa cash incentives na ibinibigay ng gobyerno sa mga national athletes at coaches na nanalo ng medalya sa mga international meets kagaya ng Southeast Asian Games, Asiad at Olympics.

Katuwang sina Pa­ngilinan, Ang at Gonzales ay nagbigay ang POC ng halos P12 milyong cash bonuses sa mga medalist athletes ng Tokyo Olympics at Vietnam SEA Games.

Lalahok ang Pinas sa 32nd SEA Games sa Phnom Penh, Cambodia at sa 18th Asian Games sa Hangzhou, China sa 2023.
