Walang iba kundi si outside hitter Alyssa Valdez ang nasandalan ng Cool Smashers partikular na sa deciding fifth set para hablutin ng tropa ang 8-1 rekord.
“We give credit for Perlas today they really give a good fight. Floor defense nila, overall total team effort. We believe sa tiwala ng mga coaches namin na everyone in our team gagawa (ng puntos),” ani Valdez.
Pumalo si Valdez ng season-best na 24 points mula sa 22 attacks at dalawang aces habang malaki rin ang nai-ambag ni Tots Carlos na humataw ng triple double na 20 points, 21 digs at 12 receptions.
Nagsumite naman si Jema Galanza ng 13 hits habang umani si Michele Gumabao ng 11 markers.
“One of the mindsets going into the semis, we just have to play our game. This tournament is really more mental as well as physically. We’re going with confidence and hopefully sana mabigyan namin ng magandang laro ang makakalaban namin,” dagdag ni Valdez.
Nanatili sa ilalim ng standings ang Perlas Spikers tangan ang 1-7 baraha.
Nangibabaw para sa Perlas si Cherry Nunag na may 17 hits habang nag-ambag si second stringer Heather Guino-o ng 14 points.
Kumpleto na ang semis cast — Creamline, Chery Tiggo, Choco Mucho at PetroGazz — kaya’t puwestuhan na lamang sa Final Four ang magdedetermina sa huling araw ng eliminasyon ngayong Sabado.
