MANILA, Philippines — Hindi mga professional league ang Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL), Premier Volleyball League (PVL) at Philippine Superliga (PSL) kaya hindi sila pinayagan ng Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) na magbalik-ensayo.
Ito ang simpleng paliwanag kahapon ni Games and Amusements Board (GAB) chairman Abraham Mitra sa panayam ng Power Sports program ni dating PBA Commissioner Noli Eala.
“They don’t want to admit that they are professionals which is sad becaue according to (Philippine Sports Commission) chairman Butch Ramirez as long as you are paid and you do not play for the (national) flag then you are a professional,” wika ni Mitra sa MPBL, PVL at PSL. “So dapat saklaw kayo ng gobyerno through the Games and Amusements Board.”
Binigyan ng go-signal kamakalawa ng IATF-EID ang pagbabalik-ensayo ng mga players ng Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) at Philippine Football Federation (PFF) sa gitna ng kinakaharap na coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
Mga professional leagues ang PBA at PFF, ayon kay Mitra.
Sinuspindi ng PBA ang kanilang Season 45 noong Marso 11 dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic habang hindi naman nasimulan ng PFF ang Premier Football League (PFL).
Sinabi ni Mitra na wala na siyang magagawa kung ayaw ng MPBL, PVL at PSL na maikunsiderang mga professional leagues na gagabayan ng GAB.
