SEMARANG, Indonesia — Humirit pa si Swimming Pinas standout Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh ng bagong Philippine national junior record sa pagtatapos ng 11th Asean School Games dito.
Nakasiguro si Mojdeh ng tanso sa girls’ 200m butterfly sa bilis na dalawang minuto at 19.51 segundo.
Winasak ni Mojdeh ang kanyang dating Philippine national junior record na 2:21.14 na naitala niya sa Philippine Swimming Incorporated (PSI) Grand Prix National Finals dalawang linggo na ang nakalilipas.
Ito ang ikalawang tanso ni Mojdeh bukod sa 100m butterfly kung saan winasak niya ang kanyang national junior record na 1:04.08 para bagong 1:03.60.
“Sometimes we forget that she is only 13 years old because of how amazing her swims are. But we always tell her to do it one step at a time. That her road to her goal will be tested so many times,” pahayag ni Swimming Pinas team manager Joan Mojdeh.
“And that in any competitions she really never lose because she gets to gain so much through the experience of competing these wonderful athletes,” dagdag nito.
Humirit din sina Phillip Joaquin Santos, Jordan Ken Lobos, Mervien Jules Mirandilla at Miguel Barreto ng tanso sa boys’ 4x100m medley relay sa tiyempong 3:59.01.
Sa kabuuan, uuwi ang swimming team bitbit ang isang ginto, dalawang pilak at limang tansong medalya mula sa nasabing kompetisyon.
