MANILA, Philippines — Pinamunuan ni Swimming Pinas standout Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh ang pambansang delegasyon na tumulak kahapon patungong Semarang, Indonesia para sa 11th Asean School Games na aarangkada ngayong araw.
Kasama ng Palarong Pambansa multi-gold medallist ang iba pang miyembro ng swimming team na magtatangkang humakot ng gintong medalya sa naturang annual meet.
Walong events ang lalahukan ni Mojdeh.
Sasalang siya sa girls’ 50m butterfly, 200m butterfly, 100m butterfly, 200m Individual Medley at 400m Individual Medley, habang bahagi rin siya ng 4x100m medley relay, 4x100m freestyle relay at 4x200m freestyle relay team.
Maliban kay Mojdeh, nasa lineup din sina Swimming Pinas tankers Jordan Ken Lobos, John Neil Paredes at Jules Mervien Mirandilla na nakatakdang dumating sa Indonesia bukas kasama si head coach Virgie De Luna.
Masisilayan si Lobos sa 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke, 200m breaststroke at 4x100m medley relay, samantalang sasabak si Paredes sa 50m butterfly at 50m backstroke, at aarangkada si Mirandilla sa 50m butterfly, 100m butterfly, 200m butterfly at 50m freestyle.
“It’s our first time to compete in the Asean School Games. Jasmine, an incoming high school student, will be up against fourth year students from different countries and it’s a good exposure for her,” ani Swimming Pinas team manager Joan Mojdeh.
Maliban sa Pilipinas, lalahok din ang Thailand at Vietnam gayundin ang Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Brunei Darussalam, Laos, Singapore at host Indonesia.
Maliban sa swimming, lalaruin din ang athletics, badminton, basketball, sepak takraw, tennis, table tennis, volleyball at pencak silat.
Pakay ng Pilipinas na malampasan ang 9 gold, 7 silver at 20 bronze medals noong 2018 edisyon.
