MANILA, Philippines — Itinarak ng University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD) Junior Altas ang pangalan nito sa kasaysayan ng NCAA matapos masungkit ang kauna-unahang general championship crown nang pagharian nito ang NCAA Season 94.

Ito ang unang overall title ng Junior Altas sapul nang sumali ito sa pinakamatandang collegiate league sa bansa noong 1984.

Nakalikom ang Perpetual Help ng 365 puntos para talunin ang five-time champion San Beda University Red Cubs na nagrehistro naman ng 363.5 puntos at putulin ang winning streak ng Red Cubs.

Namayagpag ang Junior Altas sa chess, indoor volleyball, beach volleyball at track and field kung saan nakakuha ito ng 50 puntos sa bawat events.

Pumangalawa naman ito sa swimming (40 points) at pumangatlo sa table tennis (30 points) at football (30 points).

May nakuha naman ang Perpetual Help na 20 points sa basketball at lawn tennis, 15 points sa badminton at 10 points sa taekwondo.

Pumangatlo sa overall race ang Arellano University Braves na may nako­lektang 302.5 puntos.

Idaraos ang awarding ceremony para sa general championship sa Marso 28 sa NCAA Cheerleading Championship na gaganapin sa Mall of Asia Arena sa Pasay City.

“We congratulate the whole team and the whole of UPHSD community is proud of the accomplishments,” ani NCAA Policy Board Chair at UPHSD president Anthony Tamayo.
