Natatanging atleta pararangalan ng Siklab

MANILA, Philippines — Kikilalanin ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC)- Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) Media Group ang 50 natatanging atletang nagpasiklab sa kani-kanilang mga events sa local at international competitions.

Pormal na igagawad ang parangal sa gagana­ping Phoenix Siklab Sports Youth Awards sa Hunyo 27 sa Century Park Hotel sa Vito Cruz, Manila.

Magsisimula ang prog­ra­ma sa alas-5 ng hapon.

Hahatiin ang mga awardees sa apat na ka­tegorya--ang Sports Idols, Young Heroes Awards, Super Kids Award at Chi­ldren’s Games for Peace Awards.

Nangunguna sa lista­han sa Children’s Games for Peace Awards si 2018 Palarong Pambansa Most Bemedalled Athlete Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh na mula sa Philippine Swimming League.

Napili si Mojdeh dahil sa matikas na kampanya nito sa Palarong Pambansa gayundin sa mga international tournaments sa Japan, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong at China.

Kasama ni Mojdeh sa naturang kategorya sina Jayvee Alvarez (athletics), Rick Angelo Sotto (athle­tics), Althea Michel Baluyot (swimming), Ethan Zafra (archery), Karl Jahrel Eldrew Yulo (gymnastics), Princes Sheryl Valdez (arnis), Jared Cole Sua (archery) at Phoebe Nicole Amistoso (archery).

Pasok naman sa Sports Idols sina 1996 Winter Olympic silver medalist Mansueto “Onyok” Velasco at 2016 Rio Olympic silver medalist Hidilyn Diaz.

Nasa Young Heroes awardees sina Kim Remolino ng triathlon, Rex Luis Krog ng cycling, Chezka Centeno ng billiards, Sa mantha Kyle Catantan ng fencing, Nicole Tagle ng archery, Mariya Takahashi ng judo, Alex Eala ng tennis, Veruel Verdadero ng athletics at Bhay Newberry ng swimming.
