SHANGHAI, China — Nasungkit ni Palarong Pambansa Most Bemedalled Athlete Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh ang Most Outstanding Swimmer award matapos makakuha ng pinakamataas na FINA points sa 2018 Shanghai Invitational Swimming Championships sa Oriental Sports Center dito.
Nakapagtala ang reigning Philippine Swimming League (PSL) Swimmer of the Year ng 557 puntos nang kubrahin ang gintong medalya sa 200m butterfly sa bilis na dalawang minuto at 27.97 segundo sa girls’ 11-12 division.
“It’s her first time to win a Most Outstanding Swimmer award through FINA points and she got it by beating tall and older opponents from different countries. We’re so proud of her,” pahayag ni PSL president Susan Papa.
“Hopefully next time we’ll be able to send more swimmers to compete here. It’s a good exposure for our swimmers because they’ll be competing against Chinese, Singaporeans, Europeans and some Americans,” dagdag ni Papa.
