PSL swimmers lumangoy ng 7 ginto sa Kenya

MANILA, Philippines - Sumisid sina Philippine Swimming League (PSL) standouts Rowena at Risha De Guzman ng 13 medalya tampok ang pitong ginto sa 2016 Nairobi Swimming Association (NASA) National Invitational Swimming Championship na ginanap sa Coast International Academy sa Mombassa, Kenya.

Umariba si Rowena ng apat na ginto, tatlong pilak at isang tanso sa girls’ 13-14 category habang nagdagdag naman ang nakababatang kapatid nitong si Risha ng tatlong ginto at dalawang tanso sa boys’ 10-11.

Nagreyna si Rowena sa 200m Individual Medley matapos maglista ng dalawang minuto at 50.79 segundo kasunod ang pamamayagpag sa 50m butterfly (34.96), 50m breaststroke (41.63) at 50m backstroke (34.90).

Sumiguro rin ito ng pilak sa 50m freestyle (30.93), 100m backstroke (1:18.89) at 200m backstroke (2:46.40), at tanso sa 100m freestyle.

Hindi rin nagpakabog si Risha na naghari naman sa 200m IM sa bilis na 3:02.22 gayundin sa 50m breaststroke (44.16) at 100m butterfly (1:31.12).

Galing naman ang kanyang tanso sa 100m breaststroke (1:40.02) at 50m butterfly (40.13).

Pinuri ni PSL President  Susan Papa ang impresibong ipinamalas ng makapatid na De Guzman na produkto ng grassroots development program ng asosasyon.

“PSL is happy with the exposure given to these young swimmers in Kenya. It’s one way of motivating them and giving them confidence. It is a job well done and I would like to congratulate the De Guzman siblings,” pahayag ni Papa.

Sina Rowena at Risha na miyembro ng Braeburn Swimming ay nauna nang nagpamalas ng husay sa NASA Senior and Junior League Meet na ginanap noong Oktubre 1 at 2, at Oktubre 8 at 19 na parehong ginanap sa Gems International School sa Nairobi.

Sunod na sasabak ang De Guzman siblings sa NASA Sprints And Relays gayundin sa Distance Meet na gaganapin sa Nobyembre sa Moi International Stadium sa Kasarani, Nairobi.
