Malamig na klima walang epekto sa kampanya ng PSL tankers

TOKYO -- Tiwala ang pamunuan ng Philippine Swimming League (PSL) na hindi makakaapekto sa kam­panya ng mga Pinoy swimmers ang napakalamig na klima sa 2016 Tokyo National Swimming Championship na magsisimula sa Pebrero 7 hanggang 10 sa St. Mary’s International School dito.

“Mas malamig ang klima ngayon kumpara noong No­vember nang lumaban kami kaya kailangan ng mga bata na makapag-acclimatize para makapag-adjust ang katawan nila sa cold weather,” wika ni PSL president Susan Papa patungkol sa klima rito na nasa  9 degrees hanggang 1 degree celcius.

Sasandalan ng PSL sa paghakot ng ginto sina  Swimmer of the Year top candidates Sean Terence Zamora  ng Santo Tomas  University at Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh ng Immaculate Heart of Mary-College-Parañaque.

Bukod sa dalawang swimmers na nabanggit, inaasahang gagawa rin ng produktibong paglangoy sina UAAP Season 78 gold medalist  Drew Benett Magbag ng University of the Philippines Integrated School, Gwangju Universiade veteran Jux Keaton Solita ng UST at Singapore Swimming Championship Most Outstanding Swimmer awardee Marc Bryan Dula ng Weissenheimer Academy.

“We want to make sure that they are in tip top con­ditions before plunging into action. These kids are mo­tivated and they are raring to go and win medals for our country,” dagdag ni Papa na nakatakdang sanayin nga­yong umaga ang mga tankers sa malamig na tubig.

Kasama rin sa kakampanya sa Pinas ang beterano ng Indian Ocean All-Star Challenge na sina Lans Rawlin Do­nato ng UP at Martin Pupos ng National University, Singapore Invitatio­nal Swimming Meet me­dalist Joey del Rosario ng De La Salle Santiago Zobel School, sina Lo­wenstein Julian Lazaro at John Leo Paul Salibio.
