MANILA, Philippines - Sumisid pa ang Philippine Swimming League (PSL) ng pitong gintong medalya sa pagtatapos ng 2016 International School Manila (ISM) Invitational Swimming Meet na ginanap sa ISM swimming pool sa Taguig.
Nagdagdag ng tig-dalawang ginto sina Gwangju Universiade veteran Jux Keaton Solita ng University of Santo Tomas at Japan Invitational Swimming Championship multi-gold medalist Charize Juliana Esmero ng University of the Philippines Integrated School (UPIS) sa kani-kanilang paboritong events.
Naghari si Solita sa boys’ 200m butterfly at 400m freestyle samantalang namayagpag si Esmero sa girls’ 400m freestyle at 100m backstroke.
Umani rin ng ginto sina Indian Ocean All-Star Challenge record-holder Drew Benett Magbag ng UPIS (boys’ 200m breaststroke) at reigning Male Swimmer of the Year Sean Terence Zamora ng UST (boys’ 100m backstroke) gayundin ang mixed 400m medley relay nina Magbag, Zamora, Esmero at Trisha Oliveros.
Maliban sa pitong ginto, nakasiguro rin ang PSL ng isang pilak sa mixed 400m freestyle relay na binubuo nina Paul Christian King Cusing, Jewel Sermonia, Isabel Baclig at Rodger Giron at tatlong tanso mula kina Cusing (boys’ 100m backstroke), Roger Dante Lagasca Giron (boys’ 200m butterfly) at Marcus Faytaren (boys’ 400m freestyle).
Sa kabuuan, humakot ng 13 ginto, tatlong pilak at limang tansong medalya ang PSL team upang makuha ang ikatlong puwesto sa overall team championship.
Ang iba pang miyembro ng koponan ay sina Namahig Asa Mahiwo, John Andre Mendoza, Angel Tristan Pascua, Simon Troy Pascua, Kyle Wason Pua, Nigel Anthony Romey at Neve Alyssa Salgado.
