MANILA, Philippines – Dalawang bagong rekord ang itinala nina Marc Bryan Dula ng Wissenheimer Academy at Sean Terence Zamora ng University of Sto. Tomas para pangunahan ang mga record-breakers sa pagsisimula ng 87th Philippine Swimming League (PSL) National Series-8th Sen. Nikki Coseteng Swimming Championship kahapon sa Diliman College swimming pool sa Quezon City.
Nairehistro ni Dula ang isang minuto at 25.86 segundo upang wasakin ang dating 1:31.06 marka sa boys’ 8 years 100-meter Individual Medley (IM), habang muli siyang namayagpag sa 50m butterfly nang ilista ang 36.35 segundo para burahin ang lumang rekord na 39.12 segundo.
Mainit din ang ratsada ng Indian Ocean All-Star Challenge multi-gold medalist na si Zamora matapos ilista ang 2:12.65 sa boys’ 15-over 200m IM na siyang tumabon sa dating 2:18.82 at nagtala ng bagong rekord sa 100m backstroke mula sa itinalang 59.97 segundo para ibaon ang lumang 1:03.53 rekord.
“We are happy seeing these kids break records. They’re motivated to make it to the team going to international tournaments next year. These swimmers are now qualified in our major compeitions abroad in 2016 in Australia and Japan. We are looking forward see more records falling in day two,” pahayag ni PSL president Susan Papa.
Nagtarak ng bagong rekord sina Gian Daniel Berino (boys’ 15-over 100m backstroke, 1:01.89), Jerard Dominic Jacinto (boys’ 14-yrs 100m backstroke, 1:01.15), Rio Lorenzo Malapitan (boys’ 12-yrs 200m breaststroke, 3:07.69), Zhakira Eybriel Idulsa (girls’ 200m breaststroke, 3:01.45) at Erika Lois Suelan (girls’ 200m breaststroke, 3:03.09).
Nagwagi ng gold medal sina Kyla Soguilon (girls’ 11-yrs 200m IM), Aubrey Tom (girls’ 8-yrs 100m IM), Chelsea Pastrolero (girls’ 7-yrs 100m IM), Estelle Mendez (girls’ 6-under 100m IM), Master Charles Janda (boys’ 6-under 100m IM), Trump Christian Luistro (boys’ 7-yrs 100m IM), Marie Joe Borres (girls’ 10-yrs 200m IM), Ivo Enot (boys’ 9-yrs 100m IM), Roger Dante Giron (boys’ 15-over 200m breaststroke) at Ferdinand Ian Trinidad (boys’ 13-yrs 200m IM).
