MANILA, Philippines – Pag-aagawan ng Pet­ron at ng Philips Gold ang No. 1 berth sa semifinals sa pagtatapos ng double-round eliminations ng 2015 Philippine Superliga Grand Prix ngayon sa The Arena sa San Juan.

Magtutuos ang Petron at ang Philips Gold sa ganap na alas-4 ng hapon ka­sunod ang bakbakan ng  Cignal at Meralco sa alas-6 ng gabi sa women’s inter-club tourney na inihahandog ng Asics at suportado ng  Milo, Senoh, Mikasa at Mueller bilang technical spon­sors at TV5 bilang official broadcaster.

Nagmula sa straight-set win sa Foton Tornadoes, kum­piyansa ang Blaze Spi­kers na makakadiretso sila sa ikaanim na sunod na panalo.

Kasalo nila ang Lady Slammers sa magkatulad nilang 7-2 win-loss mark.

Nanggaling naman ang Philips Gold sa straight-set wins kontra sa Meralco at Cignal para painitin ang ka­nilang agawan ng Petron sa top spot sa ‘do-or-die’ se­mifinals sa susunod na linggo.

“This is going to be a very important game for both teams,” sabi ni Petron coach George Pascua. “Al­though it doesn’t really mat­ter who will be the no. 1 or no. 2 in the semis, both of us want to win to gain enough momentum for the se­mis. This game should serve as our springboard for tough battles ahead.”

Ito rin ang paniniwala ni Philips Gold coach Francis Vicente.

“As much as possible, we want to avoid Petron in the semis due to their depth and experience,” ani Vicente.

“But since we are going to face them in the last day of eliminations, we are planning to go all out to create a mental note that Petron is also beatable. We just have to work together as a solid team to reach our goal,” dagdag pa nito.
