MANILA, Philippines - Naging impresibo ang pagdedepensa ni Terence Crawford ng kanyang suot na World Boxing Organization super lightweight crown laban kay Dierry Jean kahapon sa CenturyLink Center sa Omaha, Nebraska.
Sa kanyang 10th-round knockout victory laban sa tubong Haiti na si Jean, umaasa si Crawford na magiging malakas ang kanyang tsansang labanan si Manny Pacquiao sa Abril 9, 2016.
I’m ready. Bob, make it happen,” sabi ni Crawford kay Bob Arum ng Top Rank Promotions. “I’m ready. I’m gonna let my handlers, (co-managers) Cameron Dunkin and Brian McIntyre, talk to Bob Arum and Team Pacquiao, and let’s see if we can make it happen.”
Itinaas ni Crawford ang kanyang win-loss-draw ring record sa 27-0-0, 18 KOs) matapos ang panalo kay Jean (29-2-0, 20 KOs).
Sinabi ni Arum na may mga pangalan pa siyang ikinukunsidera para sa magiging pinakahuling laban ni Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs).
Ang ilan dito ay sina British star Amir Khan (31-3-0, 19 KOs), Kell Brook (35-0-0, 24 KOs) at welterweight titleholder Timothy Bradley Jr. (32-1-1, 12 KOs) na nakatakdang labanan si Brandon Rios sa Nobyembre 7.
“Manny and Terence would be a hell of a fight,” wika ni Arum. “But Manny has to make that decision that he fights for his last fight. Manny has to look at the tape first, and we have to see what the result of Nov. 7 is, and then we’ll take a look after that.”
Tinalo ni Bradley si Pacquiao via split decision noong 2012 bago nakabawi si ‘Pacman’ matapos kunin ang unanimous decision sa kanilang rematch noong 2014.
Sa huli ay naniniwala si Crawford na siya ang karapat-dapat makalaban ni Pacquiao.
