4 PSL swimmers binigyan ng award

SINGAPORE – Apat na swimmers ng Philippine Swimming League (PSL) ang ginawaran ng Most Out­standing Swimmer awards makaraang mag­tam­pisaw ng medalya sa ka­ni-kaniyang dibisyon sa pag­tatapos ng 2015 Singa­pore Invitational Swimming Championship sa Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) dito.

Bumandera sa listahan sina Indian Ocean All-Star Challenge multi-gold me­dalists Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh ng Immaculate Heart of Mary College, Kyla Soguilon ng Sun Yat Sen School, Marc Bryan Dula ng Wissenheimer Aca­demy at Lee Grant Cabral ng Diliman Preparatory School.

Kabuuang limang ginto at tatlong pilak  ang kinamada ni Mojdeh sa girls’ 8-9 na pinag-init ng dalawang bagong rekord sa 100-meter breaststroke (1:34.89) at 50m butterfly (36.42).

Ang mga pilak na nasu­bi ni Mojdeh ay mula sa 200m freestyle, 200m freestyle relay kasama sina Ja­nelle Blanch, Santien San­tos at Aubrey Tom at sa 200m medley relay ka­sama sina Blanch, Tom at Samantha Lachica.

“We’re overwhelmed with the results that we’re getting  here. There are lots of good swimmers in this edition including those from Singapore Sports School who are members of the SIngapore national junior team,” sabi ni PSL president Susan Papa.

“Talagang malalakas ang mga kalaban pero lumaban ang mga bata. Nakakatuwa na nakatanim na sa puso nila ‘yung res­ponsibilidad na Pilipinas ang inire-represent nila rito hindi schools or teams nila,” dagdag pa ni Papa.

Limang gold din ang na­kuha ni Soguilon na tam­pok ang pagbasag ng dating record sa 100m bacstroke sa oras na 1:16.78, bukod pa ang  tig-isang pi­lak at tanso sa 10-11 ca­­tegory.

Ang iba pang ginto ni Soguilon ay mula sa 50m backstroke, 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle at 50m butterfly, habang ang pilak ay sa 200m freestyle relay kasama sina Isis Arnaldo, Joanna Cervas at Tricia Princillo at ang tanso naman ay sa 50m breaststroke.

Nagpakitang-gilas din ang 8-anyos na si Dula na lumangoy ng isang ginto at anim na pilak sa boys’ 8-9 event.

Inangkin ni Dula ang  gin­to sa 50m butterfly, habang pumangalawa siya sa 200m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 100m butterfly, 200m freestyle relay at 200m medley kasama sina Cabral, Joey Del Rosario at Robby Loy.
