MANILA, Philippines - Hindi pa natatapos ang problema ng University East Red Warriors.
Ito ay matapos patawan si guard Ralf Olivares ng isang two-game suspension dahil sa “unsportsmanlike†behavior sa 73-81 kabiguan ng UE laban sa National University noong Sabado.
Sa isang memorandum, sinabi ng UAAP Technical Committee na tatlong beses nagpakita ng unsportsmanlike behavior si Olivares.
“You (Olivares) were seen planting your foot on the stomach of NU player Nico Javelona after an offensive foul was called against you with 6:43 remaining in the second quarter. An additional unsportsmanlike foul against the opposing player should have been assessed against you,†nakasaad sa memo.
Natawagan si Olivares ng unsportsmanlike sa huÂling 1:53 sa third quarter nang sikuhin niya sa mukha si Robin Rono.
Sa fourth period, binangga naman ni Olivares si forward Joeffrey Javillonar malapit sa UE bench.
Isang technical foul ang itinawag sa Red Warriors bench dahil nakamit na ni Olivares ang kanyang pang-lima at huling foul nang sikuhin si Rono.
“In light of the multiple instances of unsportsmanlike behavior you displayed during the game, you are therefore suspended for two official games effective immediately,†sabi sa memo.
Nauna nang napatawan si 6-foot-7 import Charles Mammie ng isang two-game suspension at one-game suspension naman si guard Lord Casajeros.
Samantala, binigyan naman ng warning si NU center Emmanuel Mbe dahil sa kanyang paniniko sa mukha ni Christopher Javier ng UE.
