MANILA, Philippines - Sinabi kahapon ni WBO superbantamweight champion Nonito Donaire, Jr. na hindi siya nabigyan ng kopya ng kontrata na sinasabing ipinadala ng Golden Boy Promotions sa isang Top Rank lawyer.
Ang kontrata ay nag-aÂalok ng $3 milyon kay Donaire para labanan si Mexican Abner Mares.
Ayon kay Donaire, naÂguÂlat siya ng makakita ng isang scanned copy ng kontrata sa isang boxing website.
Hindi naman nakausap ng Golden Boy ang kanÂyang manager na si Cameron Dunkin para sa naturang laban niya kay Mares.
“From what I saw in the website, the proposal was for me to fight Mares in June with a 90-day grace period or up to September,†wika ni Donaire. “The offer was supposed to be $3 Million for my purse but from what I understand, HBO’s budget for a match like this is $3 Million for two fighters. Since the offer was to put it on Showtime which has a lower budget, there was no way I could get a $3 Million purse. The contract could tie me down until September at their option and there is an out-clause that allows a cancellation for whatever reason.â€
Sinabi pa ni Donaire na gawa-gawa lamang ito ng Golden Boy para agawin ang kanyang laban sa Abril na isasaere ng HBO.
Posibleng labanan ni Donaire si WBA superbantamweight titlist Guillermo Rigondeaux ng Cuba sa isang unification showdown sa Abril 13 sa Las Vegas.
