Donaire-Mares fight di maayos ng Top Rank, Golden Boy

MANILA, Philippines - Dahilan sa kani-ka­n­i­lang mga sariling interes, hin­di maitakda ng Top Rank Promotions ni Bob Arum at ng Golden Boy Pro­motions ni Oscar Dela Ho­ya ang unification fight ni­na unified world super ban­tamweight champion No­nito ‘The Filipino Flash’ Do­naire, Jr. at Mexican titlist Ab­ner Mares.

Gusto ni Arum na ang Top Rank ang magdala ng Do­naire-Mares unification fight at isasaere sa HBO.

“Golden Boy would be mentioned and so forth, but it has to be a fight that’s on HBO,” sabi ni Arum. “After all, Nonito Donaire is Figh­ter of the Year last year only be­cause HBO put him on four times.”

Sinabi naman ni Ri­chard Schaefer, ang Chief Exe­cutive Officer ng Gol­den Boy, na mismong si Arum ang ayaw makipag-usap sa kanila.

“But Bob Arum is pretty clear that he has no interest whatsoever to work with us and he was very clear, was on the record with that,” ani Schaefer.

Si Donaire (31-1-0, 20 KOs), ang WBO at IBF su­per bantamweight champion, ay nasa Top Rank, ha­bang si Mares (25-0-1, 13 KOs), ang super bantam­weight ruler ng WBC, ay na­sa kampo ng Golden Boy.
