Tallam, De los Santos masusubukan ngayon

MANILA, Philippines - Muling magkukulay berde ang kalsada ngayong umaga sa pagtakbo ng 19,909 runners tampok ang labanan sa men’s at women’s 42-kilometer event sa 36th MILO Marathon National Finals sa SM MOA grounds sa Pasay City.

Noong nakaraang taon ay hinirang na MILO Marathon Queen si Mary Grace de los Santos (2:53.07) sa women’s division, habang si James Tallam (2:28.02) ng Kenya ang naghari sa men’s category.

Si Delos Santos ay hahamunin nina Cristabel Martes (1:34:46, Baguio), Jho-An Banayag (3:02:20, Manila 42K) at Flordilisa Donos (1:26:52, Davao).

Inaasahang magbibigay ng magandang laban kay Tallam ang mga regional qualifiers na sina Julius Sermona (1:13:02, Angeles), three-time champion Cresenciano Sabal (1:13:55, Cagayan de Oro) at Eduardo Buenavista (1:13:29, Tarlac).

 Ang mga male at female division champions ay tatanggap ng tig-P300,000.

Bibigyan din ng bonus prizes na P50,000 ang mga local runners na makakabasag sa 2:15:00 invisible time barrier, P20,000 para sa unang male runner na tatakbo ng mas mabilis sa 2:18:53 course record na itinala ni Buenavista at P20,000 para sa unang female runner na mahihigitan ang 2:48:16 record ni Banayag.
