Go inaugurates Super Health Center in Biliran

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines —  To bring essential services closer to communities, Senator Bong Go led the inauguration of a new Super Health Center in Naval town in Biliran on Friday.

“Through the establishment of super health centers in the country, we saw its impact in helping the community, especially those in rural areas. By establishing a Super Health Center here, we hope to bring the government’s medical services closer to the people,” Go said in his speech.

He emphasized that the project is part of his continued efforts to enhance healthcare accessibility in communities.

“Thank you for the chance you gave me to serve you. I will not waste this. The only thing I can offer you is my diligence in serving you,” Go added.

According to Go, a Super Health Center could significantly help in reducing hospital occupancy rates by bringing basic medical services closer to the grassroots. The facility offers primary care, medical consultation and early disease detection, further strengthening the healthcare sector at the community level.

More than 700 Super Health Centers are established nationwide, including three in Biliran province.

Go expressed his gratitude to the Department of Health and local government officials – Rep. Gerardo Espina Jr., Gov. Gerard Roger Espina, Vice-Gov. Brigido Caneja III and Naval Mayor Gretchen Espina – for their efforts in making the Super Health Center a reality in the town.

Aside from leading the inauguration, Go also distributed food packs, snacks, vitamins, masks, shirts, foldable fans, basketballs, volleyballs, shoes, mobile phones, bicycles and watches to 2,617 residents, including barangay health workers.

Go also offered additional aid to individuals with medical needs and advised them to avail of the Malasakit Center assistance at Biliran Provincial Hospital.
