Cavite road mishap leaves 4 dead

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – Four persons were reportedly killed when their car collided with a trailer truck in Dasmariñas City, Cavite, on Friday, police reported yesterday.

Report reaching Chief Superintendent Jesus Gatchalian, Calabarzon police director, identified the fatalities as Joan Toledo, 37; Rogelio Santos Jr., 41; Armando San Pedro III, and Lowie Alcaraz, 33.

Truck driver Rico Andes surrendered to the police after the accident. Charges for reckless imprudence resulting to homicide and damage to property were to be filed against him before the city prosecutor’s office.

Andes and his helper suffered minor injuries from the incident.

Case investigator Senior Police Officer 1 Menard Mendoza said the driver of the car reportedly lost control of the wheel and crashed into the truck in Barangay San Agustin 1.

Mendoza said the victims were pinned under the truck.
