Mpox ‘wag ipagamot sa albularyo — OMMC

MANILA, Philippines — Nagbabala ang Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center (OMMC) sa publiko na huwag ipagamot sa albularyo o  quack doctors kung may sintomas ng mpox( monkeypox ).

Pahayag ni Dr. Marlon Arcegono, Vice Chairman ng Hospital Infection Prevention and Control Unit ng OMMC, kung nakakaramdam ng sintomas, magpakonsulta agad sa ospital at alamin ang mga pag-iingat na dapat gawin alinsunod sa protocol na itinakda ng Department of Health (DOH).

Katulad ng naging pag-iingat noon sa COVID-19 pandemic, dapat na maging maingat upang hindi kumalat sa komunidad ang mpox.

Hindi umano dapat ipagwalang-bahala ay huwag maniwala na mapagagaling ito ng quack healers.

“Do not believe in myths or superstitions, and avoid consulting albularyo and quack healers if you have symptoms of Mpox. It’s important to seek help from doctors like us here at OMMC for the right treatment,” ayon pa kay Dr. Arcegono.

“Vigilance and adherence to universal precautions are crucial,” dagdag pa nito.

Tiniyak niya rin na handa ang OMMC para tumugon sa mga kaso ng mpox.

Bilang pag-iingat na rin, sinabi ni Dr Arcegono na prayoridad na mabigyan ng bakuna ang frontliners sa  emergency room at at dermatologists.

“We will request Mpox vaccines from the Department of Health to ensure that our staff in the ER and Dermatology departments are protected, as they are the most likely to encounter patients with Mpox. While we await the vaccines from the DOH, we will implement protocols to safeguard our personnel and patients,”ani Arcegono.
