Cosmetic product laban sa peklat, ibinabala ng FDA
MANILA, Philippines — Nagbabala sa publiko ang Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) laban sa ‘misleading’ o hindi totoong advertisement ng isang cosmetic product na nagsasabing nagtatanggal ito ng mga malalalim na peklat at iba pa.
Sa inisyung FDA Advisory No. 2020-1772, “The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warns the public from purchasing and using the unauthorized cosmetic product “SCARFIX” with misleading advertisement and promotion.”
Ito’y matapos matuklasan na ang nasabing produkto na ibinebenta sa merkado ay walang valid Certificate of Product Notification (CPN).
“ All claims in the advertisements and promotions such as “removes old scars, clears keloid scars away, removes surgical scars, cures contracture scars, cures acne scars, clears hypertrophic scars, no side effects, natural cure treatment” are misleading and non-compliant to ASEAN Cosmetic Directive ”, saad ng advisory.
Maaari umanong magdulot ng peligro ang nasabing produkto sa kalusugan ng gagamit nito dahil hindi dumaan sa notification process ng FDA kaya walang garantiya sa ahensiya sa kalidad at kaligtasan sa paggamit ng produkto na magmumula sa sangkap nito tulad ng contamination sa heavy metals.
Maaring magdulot ng pangangati, irritation, anaphylactic shock at organ failure kung may ‘di angkop na sangkap.
