Miss Cebu 2025 Candidate #5: Irene Kyle Salutan, 20
CEBU, Philippines — Management finance wasn’t Irene Kyle Salutan’s first choice for a college course. She pursued it simply because it was offered to her for free.
“It’s chosen out of necessity, not passion,” she admitted. “The free education meant I didn’t have to worry about paying tuition fees.”
Despite this, her time as a management finance student broadened her perspective, ultimately inspiring her decision to join Miss Cebu 2025.
“Once I entered university, I discovered my passion for serving people and my fellow students. Through Miss Cebu, I can amplify my voice on a bigger stage to help others, which is my true passion,” she explained.
If she wins Miss Cebu 2025, Salutan hopes to shine a spotlight on the Basilica.
“It’s a classic. The Basilica is where it all began. Showcasing this to foreigners would highlight our history and the origins of our identity as Cebuanos,” she said. — (FREEMAN)
