MANILA, Philippines — Magandang balita dahil entitled na rin ang mga single parents sa libreng coverage ng state-run Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth).
Sa Circular 2024-0020, na inisyu ng PhilHealth, nakasaad na ang mga solo parents at kanilang anak ay awtomatiko nang isasama sa National Health Insurance Program (NHIP).
“The Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act or Republic Act (RA) 11861 (Section 12c) provides automatic coverage under the NHIP being administered by the PhilHealth with premium contributions to be paid by the national government: provided, that the premium contribution of solo parents in the formal economy shall be shared equally by their employees and the national government,” bahagi ng naturang Circular.
Nabatid na ang solo parent ay ie-enroll sa PhilHealth bilang principal member sa ilalim ng indirect contributor bilang membership type at solo parent naman ang magiging subtype nito.
Tanging ang mga may balidong solo parent identification card (SPIC) lamang naman ang irerehistro bilang indirect contributor.
