MANILA, Philippines — Naghain ng dalawang urgent motion sa Office of the Ombudsman si suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo na humihiling na bawiin ang ipinataw na 6 month preventive suspension.

Sa inihaing Urgent Motion for Reconsideration at Urgent Motion to Lift Preventive Suspension ay giniit ni Guo na wala siyang kasalanan at hindi makatwiran ang ipinataw na preventive suspension na nag-ugat lamang sa kanyang pagganap ng tungkulin bilang alkalde.

“The suspension should be lifted on the ground that grave errors of facts or law or serious irregularities have been committed. The complaint have no basis either in fact and in law, based on mere surmises, speculations, opinions, and questionable findings without the required quantum of evidence,” nakasaad sa mosyon.

Sinabi ni Atty. Stephen David, isa sa mga abogado ni Mayor Guo na naghain ng mosyon sa Ombudsman, na walang mabigat na ebidensya laban sa kanyang kliyente at lubhang mabigat ang 6 na buwang suspensyon.

Umaasa ang kanilang kampo na agad na reresolbahin ng Ombudsman ang kanilang mosyon lalo pa at nakasalalay dito ang pagganap ni Mayor Guo ng kanyang tungkulin bilang halal na opisyal ng lokal na pamahalaan.

“Umaasa kami na babawiin ang suspension order hindi lamang para kay Mayor Guo kundi para sa mga residente ng Bamban,” dagdag pa nito.

Matatandaan na ang suspension order ay nag-ugat sa reklamo ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) na nagkaroon ng paglabag sa Grave Misconduct, Serious Dishonesty, Gross Neglect of Duty, at Conduct Prejudicial to the Best Interest of the Service si Mayor Guo nang bigyan nito ng business permit ang isang Pogo operator.

Bukod kay Guo ay kasama rin sa sinuspinde ng Ombudsman sina Bambam Business Permit and Licensing Officer Edwin Ocampo at Municipal Legal Officer Adenn Sigua.

Samantala, ipinunto ni David na Enero 17, 2024 lamang na-renew ang business permit ng Zun Yuan Corporation nang makasumite ito ng requirements sa Business Process and Licensing Office (BPLO).

“Here, there is no proof that respondent Guo was motivated by a ­premeditated, obstinate or delibe ­rate intent of violating the law or any established rule,” ani David.

Umaasa silang agad na irerekonsidera ng Ombudsman ang kanilang inihaing mosyon.
