Comelec ini-award vote counting machine contract sa Miru

MANILA, Philippines — Iginawad ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang kontrata para sa vote counting machines na gagamitin sa 2025 national and local elections sa lone bidder na Miru Systems, isang South Korean firm.

Ayon kay Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia, matapos ang isinagawang demonstrasyon ng Joint Venture na Miru Systems Co. Lt,, Integrated Computer Systems, St. Timothy Construction Corporation, at Centerpoint Solutions Technologies, Inc. at nang mahabang deliberasyon, nagdesisyon ang Comelec en banc na aprubahan ang rekomendasyon ng Special Bids and Awards Committee (SBAC) na ibigay ang kontrata sa Miru.

Ang kontrata ay nagkakahalaga ng P17,988,878,226.55 kabilang ang ipaparentang 110,000 ­Automated Counting Machines (ACMs), ballot boxes, server/laptop at printer, at iba pang printing requirements.

“Kahapon nang hapon (Miyerkules) after ng napakahabang deliberasyon ng Commission en banc at matapos rin naming makita, nakapag-demo sa amin ang Miru System, ‘yung kanilang makina, base sa kanilang pinapakita sa atin at saka sa terms of reference, ay nagdesisyon ang Commission en banc, unanimous po kami, in-adopt namin ang recommendation ng aming Special Bids and Awards Committee at ‘yung findings ng TWG amin din pong in-adopt at sinasabi na dapat maibigay ang award sa Miru Systems at kanyang joint venture na kumpanya,” ayon pa kay Garcia.
