Marcos pinatanggal 'toll fees' sa mga nagdadala ng produkto't kalakal

MANILA, Philippines — Inutos ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa mga local government units (LGU) ang pagsuspinde sa pangongolekta ng toll fee sa mga sasakyang nagdadala ng iba’t ibang produkto.

Ayon sa Executive Order 41 na nilagdaan ni Executive Secretary Lucas P. Bersamin nitong September 25, pagbabawalan ang local government units na mangolekta ng toll fees o kahit anong paniningil sa mga motor vehicles na may dalang goods habang dumadaan sa national roads atbp. kalsadang pinopondohan ng LGUs.

“In the interest of public welfare, all LGUs are further strongly urged to suspend or discontinue the collection of fees such as, but not limited to, sticker fees, discharging fees, delivery fees, market fees, toll fees, entry fees, or Mayor’s Permit fees, that are imposed upon all motor vehicles transporting goods and passing through any local public roads constructed and funded by said LGUs,” sabi ng EO.

Layunin ng kautusang bawasan ang gastusin sa transportasyon ng mga bilihin na sinabing nakakaapekto sa “transportation and logistics costs.” Aniya, nakakadagdag kasi ito sa presyo ng mga bilihin.

“In order to uphold the welfare and advance the best interest of the Filipino people, it is the overarching policy of the Administration to consolidate all essential components within the value and supply chain, and reduce the costs of food logistics, which play a pivotal role in effectively tempering the inflation rate in the country,” dagdag pa ng EO.

Kaugnay nito, binaggit din na iuutos sa Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) kumuha ng mga kopya ng mga ordinansa ng lahat ng LGU ukol sa pangongolekta ng toll-fees sa loob ng 30 araw na alinsunod sa Section 153 at 155 ng Republic Act No. 7160, o ang Local Government Code of 1991.

Inaatasan din ang Department of Trade and Industry , Department of Transportation, Department of Public Works and Highways, Anti-Red Tape Authority, at Department of Finance na manmanan ang mga ordinansang makokolekta ng DILG upang masigurado ang pagsunod ng mga LGU sa EO.

Inaasahan sa loob ng 30 araw ay bubuo ang mga nasabing ahensya ng mga alituntunin upang tiyak na masunod ito, habang binalaang makakatanggap ng administrative at disciplinary sanctions ang mga opisyal ng mga LGU na hindi susunod sa dito. — intern Matthew Gabriel
