MANILA, Philippines — Nahuli sa isang entrapment operation ang dalawang pulis at isang sibilyan sa Bacoor, Cavite dahil sa pangongotong.
Ayon sa Philippine National Police (PNP) umaabot daw sa higit P1.5 milyon ang nakukuha ng mga pulis mula sa naturang aktibidad sa iba’t ibang transport groups kada buwan.
"Two police non-commissioned police officers, both assigned in Cavite, and their civilian accomplice were arrested," sabi ni PNP chief Benjamin Acorda Jr. sa isang press briefing nitong Miyerkules.
“These individuals were accused of collecting monthly payments known as payola from tricycle operators, drivers' associations, and other transport groups."
Kinilala ang mga nahuling pulis bilang sina Senior Master Sergeant Joselito Bugay at Staff Sergeant Dave Gregor, habang ang sibilyan na sinasabing kasabwat nila ay kinilalang si John Louie De Leon.
Ayon sa pulisya, hinahanap pa nila ang isa pang suspect na si Edralin Gawaran, ang namumuno sa Bacoor Traffic Management Department.
Kaugnay nito ipinag-utos din ni PNP chief PGen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. ang pagsibak sa hepe ng Bacoor City Police Station dahil sa sinasabing command responsibility.
“In line with our one-strike policy, this chief of police will be affected; he will be relieved. I will be giving the order as soon as we are done with this,” dagdag pa ni Acorda. — intern Matthew Gabriel
