PNP binuo 'security task force' para sa 2023 FIBA World Cup
MANILA, Philippines — Bumuo ang Philippine National Police (PNP) ng isang Security Task Force para tiyakin ang kaligtasan sa pag-host ng bansa ng 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
Inihayag ng PNP ang kanilang inisyatibang siguraduhin ang seguridad sa kabuuan ng pag-host ng bansa dahil inaasahang libo-libo ang dadalo sa dito, kabilang ang mga local at international visitors, mga atleta, officials, at fans.
“We are fully committed to ensuring the safety and security of all participants, spectators, and venues during the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup,” sabi ni PNP Chief Benjamin C Acorda Jr. sa isang pahayag, Martes.
"Our Security Task Force is well-prepared and equipped to handle any challenges that may arise."
Si Police Lieutenant General Michael John Dubria, Deputy Chief PNP for Operations ang mangagasiwa sa Security Task Force habang si Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan naman ang magsisilbing spokesperson nito.
Kabilang pa dito sina Police Colonel Jude Tacorda ang mamumuno sa STF Red Team na mangunguna sa critical security situations at emergency responses, at si Police Colonel Crisaleo Tolentino naman ang mamumuno sa STF Secretariat na aasikaso sa administrative matters ng task force.
Si Police Lieutenant Colonel Bernard Pagaduan naman ang mamumuno sa Support Staff na hahawak sa financial matters at logistical support ng task force habang si Police Brigadier General Ronnie Francis Cariaga ang mangunguna sa Multi-Agency Coordination Center.
“We call upon the cooperation and support of the public, as well as the collaboration of our partner agencies, in making this event a success," dagdag pa ni PNP Chief Acorda.
"Let us come together as one and celebrate both the sport and the spirit of unity. Let us all stay safe and vigilant."
Ang 2023 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup ay magsisimula sa August 25 hanggang September 10 at magaganap sa iba’t ibang venue sa bansa, kabilang na ang Philippine Arena sa Bulacan, Smart Araneta Coliseum sa Quezon City at sa SM Mall of Asia Arena sa Pasay City. — intern Matthew Gabriel
