MANILA, Philippines — Umaasa si dating Senate President Vicente ‘Tito Sotto III na magiging warning sa lahat ang guilty verdict ng Pasay City Regional Trial Court Branch 111 sa blogger na si Edward Angelo “Cocoy” Dayao kaugnay sa kanyang 2017 post na nagbansag sa ilang senador na bilang  “Malacañang lapdogs” o tuta ng administrasyon.

Si Dayao ay ipinagharap ng kasong libelo sa ilalim ng Republic Act 10175 o Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 noong July 13, 2018 sa Pasay City regional trial court.

Pinangunahan ni Sotto ang paghahain ng reklamo kaugnay sa “Silent No More PH” blog post ni Dayao.

“I welcome the court decision. May this be a reminder to all of us that we should be more responsible to whatever we publish online,” pahayag ni Sotto.

Sa post, tinawag ni Dayao sina Sotto at Senators Aqui­lino “Koko” Pimentel III, Emmanuel Pacquiao, Gregorio Honasan, Juan Miguel Zubiri, Cynthia Villar, at Richard Gordon bilang tuta ng Palasyo dahil sa hindi paglagda sa resolution na kumokondena sa pagkamatay ng ilang minors sa war against drugs ng Duterte administration.

Sa ruling ni acting Presiding Judge Gina Bibat-Palamos, pintawan si Dayao ng dalawa at kalahating taon hanggang apat na taon at limang buwang pag­kabilanggo.
