MANILA, Philippines — Mahigit 1,000 sundalong Pilipino at 2,000 US soldiers ang lumahok sa pagsisimula ng military exercises nitong Lunes sa Nueva Ecijia.

Ang military exercises na tinawag na Salaknib Exercise 2023 (SN23), ay dinaluhan din nina Philippine Army Comman­ding General Romeo Brawner Jr. at US Army Commanding General Xavier Brunson sa opening ceremony sa Fort Magsaysay sa Palayan City, Nueva Ecija.

Layunin ng pagsasanay na palakasin ang kakayahan ng mga sundalo sa air at shoreline defense, base kay Brawner.

“It aims to strengthen Filipino and American soldiers’ interoperability in various military operations,” ani Brawner.

Tutulong din ang mga Amerikanong sundalo sa community projects at mga disaster.

“The Salaknib exercise is an Army-to-Army annual exercise that started in 2016,” anang Armed Forces of the Philippines sa Facebook post nitong Lunes.

Aarangkada ang military exercises mula March 13 hanggang April 4.

Sinabi ng AFP na sasaklawin nito ang small arms maneuvers, live fire exercises (LFX), jungle training events, artillery and mortar LFX events, maging engineering at construction projects.

Walang dapat na ikabahala ang bansa sa military exercises na layuning palakasin ang kakayahan at galing ng mga Pilipinong sundalo.
