Pinoy Response Team larga na sa rescue mission sa Turkey
MANILA, Philippines — Nagsimula na kahapon ang inter-agency response team ng Pilipinas sa paghahanap at pag-rescue ng survivors sa katimugan ng Adiyaman, Turkey matapos ang pagyanig ng magnitude 7.8 na lindol nitong Lunes, Pebrero 6.
Ayon kay Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno, Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Administrator, umalis sa Adana Airport ang Philippine inter-agency contingent dakong 3:35 ng madaling araw upang simulan ang kanilang misyon sa Adiyaman.
“Our team in Turkiye is well coordinated with the Turkish government and with our embassy officials,” ani Nepomuceno.
Sinabi ni Nepomuceno, na naging maayos ang pagdating ng mga rescuers at koordinasyon kaya madaling nakapagsimula ang mga ito.
Nabatid na nakapaloob sa nasabing multi-agency earthquake response team ang 21-man urban search and rescue (USAR) team mula sa 525th Engineer Combat Battalion, 51st Engineer Brigade ng Philippine Army.
Kabilang din sa 85-man Philippine earthquake response team ang dalawang tauhan ng Office of the Civil Defense, 12 mula sa Philippine Air Force’s 505th Search and Rescue Group, 10 mula sa Metro Manila Development Authority, siyam mula sa Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority at 31 Emergency Medical Technicians mula sa Department of Health.
“The Philippine contingent remains dedicated and ready for their mission to help the People of Turkiye and all the victims of this tragic earthquake despite of all the challenges and the harsh and extreme weather they will experience in Turkiye,” dagdag pa ni Nepomuceno.
Matatandaang niyanig ng magnitude 7.8 na lindol ang Turkey na kumitil na ng mahigit 21,000 indibidwal kabilang na ang dalawang Pinoy.
