MANILA, Philippines — Magpapadala ang gob-yerno ng Pilipinas ng contingent na magsasagawa ng search, rescue, relief at iba pang tulong sa Turkey, na tinamaan ng magnitude 7.8 na lindol noong Lunes.

Sa isang panayam sa mamamahayag pagkatapos ng kanyang pagdalo sa kickoff ng national tax campaign ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), sinabi ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na aalis ang Philippine contingent patungongTurkey sa Pebrero 8.

“We have organized a group of about 85 personnel together with some goods… Ang hinahanap sa atin ay mga blanket, mga winter clothing dahil siyempre ‘yung mga nasi­raan ng bahay sa Turkey ay wala na silang matirahan. They’re exposed so they need all of these things,” ani Marcos.

“So we are organizing it already and I already have the assurance also of the Turkish [Airlines] that they will be the ones to bring our people and our equipment and our goods to, I suppose, to Ankara first and then to be distributed properly in Turkey,” dagdag niya.

Magpapadala rin ang pamahalaan ng mga engineers at health workers at magbibigay ng iba pang kinakailangang tulong sa mga biktima ng malakas na lindol.

Pinakilos na ng Office of Civil Defense (OCD) at National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) ang search and rescue contingent ng Pilipinas na magmumula sa OCD, Department of Health (DOH), Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force (PAF) at Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), at iba pa.

Naranasan na ng mga tauhan ng MMDA at DOH ang mga dating foreign deployments sa Japan at Haiti, na niyanig din ng malalakas na lindol.

Nauna nang humingi ng tulong ang Turkish Embassy sa Manila partikular ang emergency medical at urban search and rescue teams.

Una nang nag-alay ng panalangin at tulong si Marcos sa Turkey at Syria matapos ang daan-daang tao ang namatay sa 7.8 magnitude na lindol na tumama sa magkabilang panig ng hangganan noong Lunes.

Ayon sa mga ulat, ang 7.8 magnitude na lindol ay ang pinakamatindi sa Turkey mula 1999.
